Info about Contributor Day

Come join us to the WordPress Finland 2023 Contributor Day that will be held on September 14 at Tampere Talo. The event will start at 16:00 and end at 20:00.

The Contributor Day is an event, usually parallel to a WordCamp, focused on contributing to the WordPress Community in any of its teams.

You can sign up to the Contributor Day by updating the “I’m interested in attending the Contributor Day on Thursday (16:00-20:00)” question in your ticket.

What do I need to bring?

Bring lots of positive energy and your laptop. We won’t have many power sockets available, so if possible, charge your laptop in advance. We will not serve any food during the Contributor Day.

There are different ways to contribute, even without having technical experience. All skill levels are welcome!

Contribution Teams

There are many teams under WP umbrella. In WordCamp Finland 2023 we will have the following teams:

  • Community: mentoring WordPress meetups.
  • Documentation:
    • Updating end user docs for 6.3 release
    • Working on end user mobile app docs
    • Advanced administration
  • Photos: photo walk in Tampere with specific topics in mind and adding the photos to the WordPress Photo Directory afterwards.
  • Polyglots:
    • Quick introduction to translating
    • Let’s translate fi.wordpress.org or you can work on a plugin, theme or project you want to help to translate
