We are inviting all the Finnish WordPress community members and enthusiasts to participate in the Wapuu design contest for the WordCamp Finland conference, which will take place in Tampere on 14–15 September 2023.
What is Wapuu?
Wapuu is the official mascot of the WordCamp conference. Each conference would typically have a custom Wapuu character designed for the event. You can see examples on WAPU.US website.
Where Wapuu would be shown?
We will print stickers with Wapuu character for the WordCamp Finland conference. The stickers will be distributed freely. If there will be extra stickers they will likely be given to the organisers of the local events around finland to give away at the meetups. Wapuu also might be displayed at the WordCamp Finland 2023 official website and social media.
Why contest?
We would like to engage more members of the community and give a chance to contribute to the WordCamp Finland conference.
Rules
- Design your own unique Wapuu character using these template files.
- The themes for the character: Finland, Tampere, Community
- All participants have to be residents of Finland, Finnish citizens, members of the Finnish wordpress community or participants of WordCamp Finland 2023.
- Submit your designs with the form by 6th of August 2023.
- You can submit as many designs as you want.
- You can submit your designs in JPEG or PNG file format, minimum file size is 500px wide.
- If your design will be selected you will also need to provide the design in vector format (recommended) or a high resolution raster image
Submission form is closed.
Selection
- After the submission is closed the best design will be selected by a public voting
- If case of a draw WordCamp Finland 2013 organising team will vote to select the winner
- Winner will be announced on Finland 2023 official website and social media.
- A selection of best designs might also be featured on Finland 2023 official website.
Licence
Wapuu is released under GPL ver2 or later compatible licence as well as WordPress. Wapuu’s copyright belongs to Kazuko Kaneuchi, who created the character.
