We are introducing the main mascot of WordCamp Finland. This comes in a form of Wapuu which is traditional mascot of WordCamps since 2011 when Kazuko Kaneuchi designed it to promote WordCamp Japan<\/a>. Since then various WordCamps have dressed it with local clothes, feed it with local food and pictured it with local sights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year we asked help<\/a> to design our Wapuu and the community delivered. Without further ado, let us introduce N\u00e4sinneula’s Wapuu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Wapuu is designed by Kseniia Kim<\/a><\/strong> who is an illustrator and UI designer at redandblue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N\u00e4sinneula<\/a> is arguably the most iconic landmark of Tampere. It is the tallest building in Finland standing 168 meters tall. N\u00e4sinneula is an observation tower with revolving restaurant at its top that allows visitor to eat a meal while enjoying the views of both city and surrounding areas. N\u00e4sinneula is located next to the lake N\u00e4si and is surrounded by amusement park S\u00e4rk\u00e4nniemi. The name N\u00e4sinneula translates roughly as the needle of the lake N\u00e4si.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
