Below are some general information and tips to make your WordCamp Finland 2023 experience this week as smooth as possible.
If you have purchased a ticket and can’t use it for some reason, please consider telling about it on Slack or to us via email finland@wordcamp.org. There’s people that didn’t get the ticket, but would love to attend.
Finding the venue
WordCamp Finland 2023 is held at Tampere Talo (Yliopistonkatu 55, map), located just ten minute walk from railway station.
Tampere Talo has comprehensive arrival instructions on their website and our transportation guide helps you to get to Tampere.
Registration, schedule and lunch
If you arrive to Tampere on Thursday, you can claim your badge from Tampere Talo between 16:00 and 20:00 even if you’re not planning to attend Contributor Day.
On Friday, the registration opens at 08:00 and is open until 11:00. If you arrive later, you are still able to get your badge by asking from staff.
The registration is located at the first floor, after the cloak room and Moomin museum. The use of the Tampere Talo cloak room is free of charge for our attendees.

Lunch, light breakfast and afternoon snack with coffee and tea available will be served during the event and is included in the ticket price. We have aimed to be as sustainable as possible with the event, so all food served is vegan.
Contributor Day and Community Gathetings
Contributor Day will be held on Thursday at Tampere Talo. The event will start at 16:00 and end at 20:00. Find more information from here. There will not be many power sockets available, so if possible, charge your laptop in advance. Note that food will not be served during the Contributor Day.
There are some cool Community Gatherings taking place after the Contributor Day. Make sure to check those out.
After Party
Alongside with amazing speakers, one of the most important things in WordCamps is getting to know new people. Come with an open mind, talk to new acquaintances and have good conversations – there’s plenty of time for that. Afterparty is also a really good opportunity to talk to others and have a good drink at the same time.
The afterparty will take place at the Ravintola Poro (located at Koskikeskus (Hatanpään valtatie 1, map)) at 20:00. Please remember to bring your badge with you.
Accessibility
Our facilities at Tampere Talo are accessible. There are threshold ramps in all doorways, and the entrances have automatic doors. Corridors and doorways are wide, and the end of handrails on stairs is indicated by a tactile marker on the last step.

We encourage you to follow the Pac-Man Rule when having conversations. It’s a simple way to show others they are welcome.
Also please read our Code of Conduct as every attendee is expected to behave well. If you are subject to unacceptable behavior or notice that someone else is being subject to it, please contact organizers. Attendees engaging in unacceptable behavior can be removed from the event.
